Winnie Ewing, affectionately known as “Madame Ecosse,” devoted her life to the pursuit of Scottish independence and the empowerment of her beloved homeland. As a patron of the European Movement in Scotland, she consistently advocated for Scotland’s active participation and influence within the European Union.
Her unwavering support for European integration was rooted in her belief that Scotland’s voice should be heard on the international stage, collaborating with our European neighbours, and shaping the future of our continent.
Today, as we reflect on Winnie’s immense contributions, we express our deepest gratitude for her unwavering support for Scotland’s place in Europe. Her legacy will endure as a symbol of Scottish belief in our nation’s potential.
We offer our condolences to her family, friends, and all who were touched by her passion and unwavering spirit.
