Glasgow University’s famous debating chamber came alive with logic, rhetoric, humour and stylish oratory on 16th January 2026 when the University Debating Society hosted two skilful teams that put their arguments for and against the motion, “That this house believes that Scotland and the UK should rejoin the European Union.” A packed chamber voted by acclamation for the motion.
