Defending Democracy: Choosing Europe

In recent years, the struggle for democracy has taken centre stage in many Central and Eastern European countries, where pro-EU movements have fought tirelessly to uphold democratic values and maintain their ties with Europe. But what challenges do they face today, and how can we support their efforts to defend democracy in the face of rising authoritarianism?

Webinar hosted by the European Movement in Scotland (EMiS), chaired by EMiS President and former MEP David Martin. This event featured a panel of esteemed speakers, including a former ambassador, representatives from Eastern Europe, and leading academics, who shared their insights into the fight for democracy and the importance of European solidarity.
