Lockdown Livestream: Ukraine and EU

Glasgow Loves EU are talking to political anthropologist Arvydas Grisinas about the situation in Ukraine, the Euromaidan protests and the role of the EU.

In November 2013 the Ukrainian government of the pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych decided not to sign a planned Association Agreement with the European Union and demonstrations ensued in Kyiv. Arvydas observed the protests first-hand. These protests came to be known as the Euromaidan protests and are an important forerunner to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
