The future of parliamentary treaty scrutiny (UK in a Changing Europe)

After a period of wrangling, the government has finally agreed that parliamentarians will have the power to scrutinize post-Brexit trade agreements. The creation of a formal framework for treaty scrutiny is a significant development for parliamentary oversight. But how did we get here? And what will this mean for parliament-government relations- and the government’s ability to negotiate trade deals outside of the EU- going forward?
