More Europe Day events
We are all looking forward to a busy couple of weeks as the excitement builds up to Europe Day – and let’s not forget the Eurovision Song Contest.
Across the continent our fellow Europeans will be celebrating Europe’s achievements and unity while commemorating the signing of the Schuman Declaration on the 9th of May 1950, this ambitious plan helped secure long-term peace in post war Europe and laid the foundations for what is now the European Union.
But lets not forget that Eurovision arose out of the same desire – a coming together of European nations after decades of war and strife. And whether you love it, or find the music “challenging”, the sight of so many of our young people enjoying something so quintessentially European, means that this can be a focus for our celebrations of being part of the European family.
Here is some of the events taking place to celebrate Scotland’s place in Europe and that we would love for you to be involved with.
- The Citizens Rights Project are holding on online event titled: European citizens and Scotland: their issues, concerns & future prospects. The event takes place between 9am and 1pm and you can register here https://www.eventbrite.
