Fife4Europe: Scotland’s future relationship with Europe

17/08/2023, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Fife4Europe will be joined by North East Fife MP, Wendy Chamberlain at their monthly meeting.  Wendy will give an update on her work over the last year and her thoughts on Scotland’s future relationship with Europe.

So far the topics for discussion are:

  • Erasmus+ (NI and Wales have got there, why not Scotland?)
  • EU and non EU Nationals workers’ visas – the difficulties faced in Fife without enough workers for agriculture, care and hospitality sectors
  • Horizon – continued delay is so damaging to UK research sector
  • The next Lib Dem Government will have to work with our closest neighbours to rebuild our economy and fight the climate crisis. Would it propose a cooperation treaty to allow individual states and/or the EU to work together outside the EU Brexit deal? Or join EEA or EFTA and lobby Brussels when new rules are proposed? Or go as far as trying to re-join the single market?
We will be meeting in person at the office of Fife Voluntary Action in Glenrothes: Saltire Centre, Caledonia House, Pentland Park, Glenrothes KY6 2AL.
A recording will be made available here.
