Panel discussion about the causes and consequences of the rise of populism in Europe and America.

Are there general trends throughout Europe or specific circumstances, for example in Central and Eastern Europe? Is populism inherently nationalistic? What are the similarities/dissimilarities between left wing and right wing populism/demagogy? And what are the appropriate answers of politics and civil society in order to maintain representative democracy in the future?
