SUMMARY:Democracy table: Poland - Listen to Europe (EMI)
DESCRIPTION:How committed are Polish citizens to democracy?\nIs there a strong strain of authoritarianism embedded in Polish view of the world?\nWhat are Polish attitudes towards the EU’s Economic Recovery Plan\, economic inequality\, climate change\, women’s rights\, immigration\, human rights? \nTo answer these question\, the European Movement International will hold a Democracy Table discussion with Polish stakeholders to present the public opinion poll results from the  Listen to Europe: Reaching Beyond our Base Audience (LTE) project. \nListen to Europe is a long-term initiative aimed at helping civil society to set up targeted and informed campaigning based on data and segmentation of audiences. It includes public opinion surveys and social media listening to investigate drivers of citizens’ behaviour as well as the main topics and narratives present on social media in each of the eight project countries. It has examined the attitudes of European citizens towards the EU and democracy\, along with their opinions about specific issues like the environment\, immigration\, gender equality and human rights. \nLittle snippets from the research: \n\n69% of Poles believe that  economic inequality is growing in the country while 74% think that the world is an increasingly dangerous place;\n70% think that\, by working with the EU\, Poland can defend its borders and solve immigration problem;\n85% believe climate change is serious problem. But 58% say that the country is not doing enough to address the problem while 47% think that the EU is not doing enough to address the problem;\n78% of Poles believe that equality between men and women must be ensured.\n\nMore details and registration here.
