Our Star – UK’s European Star of Unity in Dundee

‘Our Star’ was created to promote European values, with an emphasis on peace and unity. In autumn 2023 the Star left its home at the European Parliament in Brussels and was touring its way across the UK.

Between 18th and 30th of November, the star was making its way around Scotland, marked by a series of events, planned by the European Movement in Scotland in partnership with local groups, to raise awareness of the negative impact of Brexit on our society and shine a light on our youngest citizens and the freedoms they have lost as a result of Brexit.

On 27th November 2023 the Star visited the ‘Our Star’ youth forum at Dundee City Chambers. Local politicians met with local students to hear from them how they would like to see Scotland and the UK’s place in Europe around the themes of economy, society, environment, governance and global affairs.
